Hi! I'm SAM, owner of samsstuff- an on-line gift emporium filled with eco friendly handmade, one of a kind & vintage jewelry, accessories & clothing & shellseye- filled with photography, fun, tiny embroideries, memories, thoughts & dreams...
I am strongly interested in the environment & my favorite technique is to take something that has lost it's original use, turn it into something new & unique, making it fun & useful again! I work in a variety of mediums and crafts & I enjoy creating new pieces, as well as trying out new styles & techniques. I love music, art & photography, history, science, film, travel, new places, people & ... I've lived/visited many places around the world & love the differences & similarities I've found. Any of the above could become the influence for a new piece & I love sending each piece off to a new, happy home :)
I donate a portion of each sale (as lumps sums) to Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to research, outreach & publicizing an issue that affects so many.
Handmade pieces are crafted from a combination of vintage, antique, found & new components. Each piece has its own unique style & a story to tell. Vintage items range anywhere in era, from the 30's & 40's & into the 80's, some are handmade & most are family pieces. There are even antiques...
I currently write articles for Handmadeology & have written for Handmade Spark, in the past. I can be found listed in Style, Substance, Soul, listed in their "shopping with a conscience" guide & have been featured on The Craft Map several times (check out the calendar, samsstuff is the February feature, so cool!) & several other sites.
