Etsy Tuesdays: Celine Nadon

I'm excited about today's featured artist, as I get to tell you about a fellow bookbinder!  Hooray! Celine from Alternative Journals does some fantastic wedding albums, so if you know someone getting married, let them know!  Here's what Celine has to say:

"Hi all, I'm Canadian and I currently live in California with my husband. My little business was not planned- one day I became interested in making books and slowly got better and better. Last year, my sister in law had asked me to create a wedding guestbook for her ceremony and I hesitatedly said yes. This was the first guest book I ever made. I decided to make more and put them in my etsy shop and I got a lot of response!

I make my books entirely myself. I know a lot of bookmakers buy pre-made text blocks for their books, and only do the covers. That cuts down the labor by a lot. But I feel it takes away from the handmade aspect of it. So I sew my own text blocks. I think it's something that buyers appreciate and I know I feel more pride in my work by doing so.

I hope to make this a full time career. I really love making books for people and of course, who doesn't like being their own boss?

Celine"

Thanks Celine, and the best of luck to you!
