Etsy Tuesdays...or is Etsy Thursday this week? My apologies to Cheryl who is so much more on top of things than I am! She sent her info in early, and I lost track of it. I hope you all enjoy this week's installment!

"My art is a Work in Progress, just as I am-- changing & evolving rapidly. After a lifetime of logical processing in several techie careers which I loved, I retired with my husband to years without schedules, where processing at all was usually optional! But in 2006 I picked up a pair of jewelry pliers, & my world flipped upside down once again. That simple act sparked artsy processing to life for the first time ever. I am literally living a whole new me, with imagination I did not know I had. A passion for experimenting with jewelry design is the result. Suddenly I notice & appreciate lines, colors, & dimensional relationships in everything around me, even in my dreams. Engineering that dimension into jewelry design is both challenging & gratifying. I enjoy working with beads, stones, wire, and metal… especially metal because it is less predictable. Etchant, torch, & hammer can work magic on metals.
This new passion “in retirement” produced a registered business, which includes two online jewelry boutiques, Classic Beadwear (featuring my entire collection), and Seattle Chic (my Etsy store, featuring a small subset). I do only 2-3 craft shows a year, mostly during the holidays. My days are filled experimenting with new design ideas, creating custom pieces, & selling to a very loyal & supportive customer base ordering via email or my websites. The most frequent comment from craft show shoppers is, “Your designs are so different & so varied.” I’m very proud of that. I have a lifetime of creative efforts to squeeze into my retirement years, & I don’t have any time to waste J."
