Etsy Tuesdays: Jamie Purple

Before I get into this Etsy Tuesday's feature, I wanted to show you what I just finished last Thursday!  It's a custom photo album for a couple who just got married in July.  It was a blast to design-the couple's colors were black, jade and sapphire with some peacock feathers thrown in for good measure.  I found a glorious blue silk for the cover, and used a deep green for the end pages.  As you can see, it turned out well!  However, I did a style of binding that I don't enjoy doing as it's so finicky.  It involves folding small tabs for each page and then sewing through the tabs.  The last time I did this, I promised myself that I'd never do it again.  Now, I'm saying it out loud, to the internet at large.  Never again.

Anyways, on to today's Etsy artist, Jamie Purple.  She's a fellow member of Etsy Rain, which is a group for Etsy sellers in the Puget Sound region.  She makes beautiful clothes for children, using modern prints.  Her shop is called LilyBaby Creations and you can also find her on facebook!  Here's what she's got to say: I am a typical shoe-shopping, reality-tv-watching, handmade-supporting, work-from-home mother.  My four loves are the three men in my life, drinking an irrational amount of soda, sleeping in, and that happy, fuzzy feeling I get when a package arrives in the mail with a treasure from Etsy inside.

Sewing is the perfect outlet for my pent-up creativity, and nap time makes it all possible!  All of my items are handmade with love from my tiny two-person kitchen table.  Each style is named after someone close to my heart and inspired my the wonderfully style-savvy moms and children all around me.  Every time a new item is hot off the sewing machine, I get a warm sense of pride and accomplishment. They always say,"Do what you love" and here I am, doing it to the fullest.

Thanks for making wonderful and adorable clothes Jamie, and the best of luck to you!
