It seems like every night, the sun sets half an hour earlier than the night before. Summer is so quickly gone! Happily, autumn ties with spring for my favorite time of year. I love to see things change, whether it's the leaves that fall to reveal the structure of trees or the first delicate, yet so resilient crocus in spring. However, all this means I need to consider what's next for me. When school begins again, I'll be back to working full time as a nanny for three wonderful, adorable children. I really looking forward to hanging out with them again! But having a full time job means less time for bookbinding, and this is the best time of year for crafters as far as sales go. There's a number of excellent craft shows and monthly farmer's markets that I could participate in, but I don't know how involved I want to be. Do I want to go all in? Do I only want to do one show/event a month? I find these questions especially difficult because my long term plans are not set either. It would be much easier to throw myself into this work if I knew that I was going to be in the area for longer than a year. But as my plans currently stand, I aim to be back overseas, working with the christian organization Youth with a Mission by the end of next summer. On the other hand, I deeply enjoy the bookbinding that I do, and find it very fulfilling. So we shall see. Hopefully I'll know what I should do by the beginning of September.
