Paper is a Pain!

Paper is one of my favorite things in the world.  I love the look, the feel, the scent (at least when it's in old books).  But I've run out of paper, and finding a new source of paper is rather ridiculous.  First, there's the different methods of describing the weight of paper.  A paper could be 40 lb. paper, but is that 40 lb. copier, text or cover paper? And to add to the confusion, there's also metric gsm (grams per square meter) which thankfully is consistent across the board (copier, text or cover) but requires conversion.  Plus, 40 lb. text paper by one company can be thicker than 40 lb. paper by another company.  So I had to find a handy little conversion website to do my thinking for me. Secondly, there's the price of paper.  All the really good paper (like this beauty) is quite expensive, especially if you want a lot of it to make books. So I'm looking for reasonably priced, nicely textured, medium weight paper.  Hopefuly I'll find one soon!

This lack of paper is really slowing down my work process.  I have three notebooks that I really hoped to have finished today, they'll obviously have to be delayed.  And I really want to share photos with you! I'll show you one, at least:

There's a couple things I'd like to let you guys know. First, I'm going on vacation this weekend.  After the farmer's market, I'm packing up (hopefully I'll already be packed) and heading out with my family to camp near Mt. Rainer.  It'll be great to be stuck in the great outdoors! Second, I've created a new page called the bookshelf which is a gallery of the journals that I've created. Lastly, I've created a twitter account, so those of you who like that thing can follow along.  I must admit I'm a sucker for it, though I'm not sure if I actually like it!

Cheers!  Have a fantastic weekend!
